According to Dr. West, it orginated a place to remember his wife. Over the years, it changed into a place where he could communicate with the Corrupted. One of the largest (and probally the most important) statues is of a large Cthulu-like creature carrying a sword.

- While players didn't explore the Cathedral in story mode, Rick passed by it to stop Jen's sacrfice. A down-sized version also serves as a survival arena.
- In beta footage, Rick would of been fighting a large body on fire whle in the Cathedral.
